Random Story Title Generator

This is a quick Javascript app I whipped up to generate random titles appropriate for short fiction. It incorporates random nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, verbal auxiliaries, historical figures, and public domain characters largely drawn from modern and pulp short fiction titles, arranged into one of twenty-somthing grammatical patterns.

Its results don't always make sense, but that's why it gives you five options. Feel free to select whichever one suits you best and discard the rest. Any 'real' titles generated are entirely coincidental. I'm pretty sure that any fictional places or characters invoked are within the public domain, but you might want to double check on that before using it. I just felt that using Hyperboria looked nicer than FICTIONAL PLACE and prefered Hamlet to FIRST NAME.

Version 2.0

I've been working on an expanded version with a bigger database drawing from more sources, genre filtering, and more intelligent structuring. I'm a professional writer, though, and I spend most of my time writing, so it'll be a while.

If you want to see the new version sooner or just appreciate the work that went into this one, donate a few bucks for development costs, and I'll have the time to work on it. Or better yet, buy my books.
